Round Paver Patio with Built-In Fire Pit and Seating Wall

Most backyards have a ton of potential just sitting there unused. A flat, open yard is fine - but it doesn't give you a reason to go outside and stay a while. That's exactly the kind of space we started with here, and what we ended up with is a whole lot different.

We built a fully custom round paver patio centered around a stacked stone fire pit. The circular layout isn't just a design choice - it naturally draws people in and creates a space that feels intentional. Everyone faces the fire, conversation flows, and the whole thing just works the way a good gathering spot should.

The retaining wall wrapping the outer edge pulls double duty. It holds the grade and gives you built-in seating all the way around. No need to drag chairs out every time someone wants to sit down. The wall steps down on both sides to make it easy to walk in and out of the space, which is a small detail that makes a big difference in how the whole area functions day to day.

The paver pattern itself is worth paying attention to. Laying pavers in a true circular pattern takes precision - every course has to be cut and set at the right radius or the whole thing looks off. We use a darker border ring to frame the field pavers, which gives the patio a clean, finished edge and a lot of visual depth. This is the kind of hardscape work that holds up for years and adds real value to a property.
